Vol. 362 No. 14

Written Answers. - State Borrowing Statistics.

49.

asked the Minister for Finance the amount of money borrowed in the 253 foreign loans; and the currency borrowed, in the 53 national loans, Exchequer bills and domestic liabilities.

I take it that the Deputy is referring to the information which I provided in answer to his question on 11 December 1985 on the national debt outstanding at 30 September 1985. The IR£ value of the 253 foreign loans at the exchange rates of 30 September was £8.4 billion. The debt outstanding in the 53 national loans. Exchequer bills and domestic liabilities was denominated in Irish pounds and amounted to £11.6 billion.
