asked the Minister for Finance if the Government will take effective action to safeguard the 400 year old Rathfarnham Castle in County Dublin in view of its historical and amenity importance.

Officers of the Commissioners of Public Works are at present in consultation with the planning authority in the matter of the proposed development at Rathfarnham Castle. In the light of these consultations the commissioners will decide what action, if any, they should take under the National Monuments Acts.
