Vol. 363 No. 4

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

95.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will arrange for the immediate payment of a rebate of PAYE income tax to a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny where all the information requested has been submitted.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's liability for the year 1984-85 has been further reviewed to take account of the appropriate amount of loan interest relief due and an overpayment has emerged. A cheque in settlement will be issued as soon as possible. The taxpayer ceased employment on 4 October 1985 and subsequently submitted to the inspector of taxes a claim for repayment of tax on the grounds of unemployment. The claim has been dealt with and a cheque in settlement of the refund due will also be issued as soon as possible.
