Vol. 363 No. 7

Written Answers. - Social Employment Scheme.

15.

asked the Minister for Labour the number of workers employed in each county on the social employment scheme for each month since it commenced in February 1985.

Statistics on the social employment scheme are at present compiled on the basis of national manpower regions. It is not possible therefore to provide details in respect of individual counties without diverting significant resources to statistical work.

Although the social employment scheme was launched in February 1985 the first projects did not come on stream until May. Regional statistics were first compiled in July.

The regional details, stating the position on the last Friday in each month since July 1985, are set out in the following tabular statement.
