Vol. 363 No. 7

Written Answers. - Development Officers Scheme.

21.

asked the Minister for Labour if he will make extra funds available to the regional councils of youth clubs to enable them to expand the development officers scheme in view of the excellent work done to date by these officers.

In October 1983 the Government discontinued the temporary youth development officer scheme and made arrangements for the continued employment of those personnel on a permanent basis.

The question of making extra funds available to regional councils of youth clubs is being dealt with in the context of proposals contained in the White Paper on Youth Policy, In Partnership with Youth, published in December 1985.
