Vol. 363 No. 10

Written Answers. - Water Pollution Control.

84.

asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry if he has received representations from the Connaught Angling Council on behalf of trout anglers in the west of Ireland concerning an amendment to the Fisheries Act, 1959, in which control of water pollution would be vested in local authorities; if such a decision has been made; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have received representations from the Connaught Angling Council in this matter. As indicated by the Minister for the Environment in reply to a question in the House on 7 November, the matter is currently under consideration and the views of all interests concerned will be taken into account before a final decision is made.
