Vol. 364 No. 4

Written Answers. - Income Tax Refunds.

72.

asked the Minister for Finance when an income tax rebate will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that, on the basis of the information supplied, they are unable to trace the taxpayer in their records. If the taxpayer's correct revenue and social insurance (RSI) number is supplied to her inspector, together with any additional information which may be required, the matter will be examined.

73.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will urgently arrange for a tax refund to issue to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who has been seeking this for some time and on whose behalf Deputy Gay Mitchell wrote to the Revenue Commissioner on 12 December 1985, which has not yet been replied to; and the reason Deputy Gay Mitchell has not received a reply to date.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the inspector of taxes is unable to process the taxpayer's claim for repayment of tax pending receipt from him of certain information concerning bank deposit interest and the purchase for his use of a company car. The inspector has been in communication with the taxpayer and his accountant regarding these matters since June 1983, and he last wrote to the taxpayer on 1 February 1986. The commissioners have informed me that they are unable to trace any correspondence from the Deputy concerning the taxpayer.
