Vol. 365 No. 3

Written Answers. - Residential Property Tax.

26.

asked the Minister for Finance the gross yield in 1984 and 1985 from the residential property tax; and the administration costs of collection in each year.

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the gross yield from residential property tax was £1.1 million in 1984 and £2.08 million in 1985.

It is not possible to isolate the precise costs of collecting residential property tax from the overall cost of the administration of the Inland Revenue duties as a while, but it is estimated that the cost of collection in each of the years 1984 and 1985 was approximately £250,000.
