Vol. 365 No. 14

Written Answers. - Dublin Water Charges.

70.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the anomaly whereby, although both Dublin Corporation and Dublin County Council have abolished water charges, the residents of an area called the "Extra-Municipal Area" for water supply purposes may still be liable for them; and whether, in this event, he will promote legislation to remedy this anomaly.

I am aware of the situation that exists in the "Extra-Municipal Areas". I am having the legislation governing this matter examined as part of the general reform of local government and I hope to have any necessary changes incorporated in forthcoming legislation.
