asked the Minister for Energy if he will support a policy of having the Forestry Department integrated with Bord na Móna; and if he accepts that this merger of similar interests is a commendable way forward in the development of our natural resources in those sectors.

The review group on forestry, in their report to the Minister for Tourism, Fisheries and Forestry which was published last November, made recommendations on the future of the State Forestry Service which would not involve Bord na Móna.
Bord na Móna, who had made a submission to the review group suggesting a role for them, have more recently made a submission to me in this regard.
These matters are still under consideration.
