asked the Taoiseach the number of unemployed persons in Waterford city and county for each of the years from 1982 to 1985, inclusive.

A special area of residence analysis of the live register is carried out quarterly on the second last Friday of February, May, August and November. The following table shows the average number of persons residing in Waterford city and county who were on the live register for the years 1982 to 1985 inclusive.

asked the Taoiseach the number of people employed in the State at the end of April in each of the years 1966, 1976 and 1986.

The most recent official labour force estimates available relate to April 1984 and are based on the results of the 1984 labour force survey. The results of the 1985 labour force survey should be available shortly.

The numbers of persons at work in April 1966, 1976 and 1984 were as follows: 1966, 1,066,000 (Census of Population); 1976, 1,064,000; 1984, 1,110,000.
