Vol. 368 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Allowance.

101.

asked the Minister for Defence when a review of a special allowance under the Army pensions Acts for a person (details supplied) in County Clare will be completed; and the amount of the entitlement.

The person referred to in the Deputy's question was in receipt of a special allowance under the Army Pensions Acts up to 31 March 1986. The renewal of the allowance is under review, and inquiries are at present being made with a view to determining the person's eligibility for a further grant of special allowance with effect from 1 April 1986. The minimum special allowance, if payable, would be at the rate of £402 per annum.
