asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the discussions which the Irish Government have had with the USA and/or UK Governments in relation to strategic considerations; if the Irish Government have been asked for any considerations in the event of an emergency in Europe; the arrangements which the Irish Government have with the USA and/or UK Governments in the event of a nuclear emergency in Europe; if the Irish Government are informed of NATO contingency plans etc; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Government have not engaged and do not engage in any discussions with other Governments in relation to strategic considerations of the kind cited by the Deputy. I am not aware of any requests or arrangements in the areas in question and have received no information of the type referred to by the Deputy.
