Vol. 369 No. 3

Written Answers. - Proposed Extension at Offaly School.

199.

asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the provision of additional accommodation to Clonlisk national school, Shinrone, Birr, County Offaly; and the extent of the accommodation to be provided.

206.

asked the Minister for Education if he will issue approval for the extension to Clonlisk national school, Shinrone, County Offaly.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 199 and 206 together.

My Department is prepared in principle to grant aid the extension of Clonlisk national school, Shinrone, County Offaly, to give accommodation overall of three classrooms and a general purposes area. My Department has undertaken a feasibility study which indicates that an extension on these lines will be possible within the normal cost limits for national schools building schemes. An indication of what further stages of planning can be approved in relation to this project will be conveyed to the school authorities in the light of the 1987 capital allocation for national school building.
