Vol. 369 No. 4

Written Answers. - Milk Payments.

97.

(Limerick West) asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that at the present time, cooperatives are paying for milk on a variety of bases; and that since existing law requires payment on the basis of butter fat only, if he will introduce legislation which will provide for payment for milk in ways suited to modern conditions in the dairying industry.

I am so aware and I will shortly be submitting to the Government a scheme of a Bill which will, inter alia, prescribe the basis for payment for milk.
