Vol. 369 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

51.

asked the Minister for the Environment when a grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

Arrangements will be made to pay the grant on receipt of the inspector's report in the case.

52.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will indicate when approval will issue for the refurbishment of houses in the Brandon Park Estate, Graiguenamanagh, County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

53.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will issue for the refurbishment of additional houses at Newpark Close, Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 52 and 53 together.

The results of a pilot scheme carried out at Newpark Close are at present being evaluated by my technical advisers. When their report is available to me, I will make a decision in regard to the work necessary on both estates, which are of similar construction.

54.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will state the outcome of an application for a home improvement grant for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 which was re-examined by the inspector from his Department on 30 September last.

According to the Department's records, a grant of £600 was paid to the person named in two instalments in May and July 1981 in respect of the house which is now the subject of an application for a grant under the existing house improvement scheme. As, therefore, a period of seven years has not elapsed since payment of the previous grant the application now has to be rejected in accordance with the conditions of the scheme.
