Vol. 369 No. 9

Written Answers. - Eligibility for Road Freight Certificate.

56.

asked the Minister for Communications the reason a person (details supplied) who applied for a road freight certificate was not granted one as the applicant has 25 years experience in the business; and in view of these facts, if he will consider granting the licence to him as soon as possible.

Applicants for road freight certificates must comply with the provisions of the Road Transport Act, 1933, as amended, in relation to merchandise licensing requirements, where appropriate. The person named was informed in March 1982 that he qualified for a road freight certificate subject to compliance with the merchandise licensing requirements. He was requested to indicate his intentions in that regard but, to date, a response has not been received. On receipt of the necessary information the application will be considered further.
