Vol. 369 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Free Fuel Vouchers.

1.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reasons for the substantial delay in the issuing of free fuel vouchers to those on the national fuel scheme in the Drogheda area, County Louth.

It is understood from the NorthEastern Health Board, which is responsible for the administration of the national fuel scheme in County Louth that there have been no delays in the issue of fuel allowances. Fuel vouchers are normally issued by the board at the end of October each year and in the 1986-87 season the issue of vouchers commenced on 28 October and is ongoing.

If the Deputy has any specific case in mind I will be glad to investigate the matter further.
