asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will pay a cattle headage grant to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person named has been paid his 1986 cattle headage grant already.

asked the Minister for Justice his response to the contents of a letter (details supplied); and if he can ensure that gardaí are available for necessary security duties at Cabra post office.

I do not consider that it would be appropriate for me to give a response to a letter by way of reply to a parliamentary question. The letter is a recent one and its receipt has been acknowledged. It concerns the allocation of Garda manpower at local level and a reply will be issued shortly.

As regards the second part of the question, the Deputy will appreciate that the assignment of gardaí for a specific local duty is a matter which must be left to the local Garda officers.
