Vol. 372 No. 7

Written Answers. - Civil Service/Local Appointments Commissions.

24.

asked the Minister for Finance the reason there is an increased allowance made in the Revised Estimates for Public Services, 1987, over last year for the Civil Service Commission and the Local Appointments Commission, considering the Government's stated position of no further recruitment in the public sector.

The revised 1987 Estimate for the Civil Service Commission and the Local Appointments Commission is £1.470 million. This, in fact, is £132,000 that is, 8.2 per cent less than the 1986 provisional outturn of £1.602 million.
