Vol. 372 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

117.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the fact that a person (details supplied) in Dublin 9 was authorised to proceed with building work on the basis of a grant of £4,924 and was subsequently told that only £3,461 would be granted resulting in grave financial difficulties; in view of the circumstances if he will review the position and award the original grant.

An error was made in approving a grant of £4,924. The maximum grant which can be allocated is £3,461 in respect of works coming within the scope of the scheme. The applicant has been informed to this effect.

118.

asked the Minister for the Environment if an increased rate of house improvement grant will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford on certain specified works and if he will make a statement on the matter.

A maximum repairs grant of £2,000 was approved in this case. A sewerage grant cannot be allowed as a grant for water and sewerage facilities was paid in 1982. Neither can a bathroom grant be allowed as the necessary inspection had not been carried out on or before 27 March 1987.
