Overall policy on the development of Irish music, dancing and culture is primarily the responsibility of the Department of the Taoiseach and Roinn na Gaeltachta.
Cooperation on such activities in so far as they are likely to benefit the national tourism effort can most effectively be dealt with in the context of the Inter-Departmental Policy Co-Ordination Committee on Tourism which is now being chaired by my Minister of State, Denis Lyons. I have now asked him to actively pursue this matter in the committee.
