Vol. 373 No. 13

Written Answers. - Low Fixed Interest Loans.

30.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the progress, if any, he has made in his discussions with one of the main banking groups in his efforts to procure low fixed interest loans to keep up cow numbers; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Officials of my Department have already had detailed discussions with representatives of the Irish Banks Standing Committee in relation to the introduction of a scheme of low interest loans designed to maintain the national cow herd. It is my intention to meet the Irish Banks Standing Committee and other interested parties in the very near future in order to advance these developments.
