asked the Minister for the Environment the properties which are currently owned or leased by An Foras Forbartha, excluding the headquarters in St. Martin's House, Waterloo Road, Dublin 4; in respect of all such properties individually listed (a) the capital cost of their provision and/or the annual rental cost, (b) the area of the building involved, (c) the numbers of people employed in the building or directly connected with the activity of the building, (d) the location of the building, (e) the activity or services which the building currently provides, (f) the buildings which will be retained by his Department, (g) the buildings which will be retained by other central Government agencies, (h) the buildings which will be conveyed to local authority and (i) the buildings which will be sold off as a consequence of the abolition of An Foras Forbartha; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Foras Forbartha Accommodation.
The information requested at (b) and (e) is set out in the tabular statement attached. Except in relation to the measures at Pottery Road where £15,200 was spent on temporary accommodation, no capital expenditure has arisen on the provision of premises. It is not the practice to disclose the amount of commercial rents payable in respect of individual properties and, for sound commercial reasons, it would not be in the public interest to do so.
It will be a matter for the board of An Foras to determine what arrangements may need to be made in regard to premises in the context of the action plan being prepared by them to implement the Government decision.
