35.

asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to the British authorities on behalf of a person (details supplied) who is in the remand centre, Risley, Cheshire, where she is in solitary confinement 23 hours a day, is allowed less than 1 hour exercise, is regularly strip searched and is allowed only half-hour visits from her family when they travel from this country; if he will seek improvements in this regard; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Embassy in London has been in contact with the relevant British authorities regarding the conditions in which the person in question is detained. The representations included the points raised by the Deputy.
