Vol. 374 No. 9

Written Answers. - Primary School Building.

179.

asked the Minister for Education the reason all inquiry calls from Deputies' offices relating to primary school building in their constituencies must first be cleared by the Minister of State's office; and the reason such instructions have been issued.

It has been a long standing practice in my Department that all inquiries from Deputies be channelled through the Office of the Minister or Office of the Minister of State, as appropriate. It is considered that this arrangement ensures full and accurate information in reply to queries from Deputies and also ensures equality of treatment for all Deputies making representations on any particular matter.
