asked the Minister for Education the number of primary school teachers in (a) Athlone, County Westmeath (b) Mullingar and (c) Longford, County Longford who will be displaced as a result of the change in the pupil-teacher ratio as recently announced.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 180 and 186 together. The position of serving national teachers who are likely to be affected by the introduction of the revised schedule of average enrolments from 1 January, 1988, will not be known until the school returns are available to my Department in January next.
