The detail of the Garda strength to be assigned to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities who have regard to the overall resources available to them and the policing needs of each area.
As regard Garda strength at Ashbourne station, I am informed by the Garda authorities that one of the two gardaí transferred from the station this year has been replaced by redeployment within the Louth/Meath Garda Division. The question of replacing the second garda is being kept under review.
