Vol. 375 No. 2

Written Answers. - Mullingar (Westmeath) Hospital.

64.

asked the Minister for Health if it is intended to provide the necessary and adequate funding for staffing and equipment for the extension of the Mullingar General Hospital, County Westmeath, by the date originally promised; and, if not, when the provision will be made to open the extension.

As I said in my Estimates speech on 22 October 1987, provision has been made for a continuation of this project. However, consideration of the staffing and equipping needs appropriate to the range and type of services which will be provided has not yet been finalised. It is, accordingly, not possible at this time to say precisely when the new facility will be opened.
