The status of teacher appointments made by the Vocational Education Committees in respect of the current school year had to be considered by my Department with reference to the implications of the Government decisions to introduce redeployment and redundancy schemes for post-primary teachers.
Accordingly, my Department sanctioned the appointment in question in a temporary wholetime capacity for the 1987-88 session.
