Vol. 379 No. 11

Written Answers. - Monaghan Housing Capital Allowance.

77.

asked the Minister for the Environment if Monaghan County Council has sought a housing capital allowance for the convent lands, Carrickmacross, County Monaghan; if so, (1) the amount sought, (2) if the allocation was made and if so, when, (3) the number of proposed houses in the application, (4) if detailed plans were submitted to the Department for approval and, if so, when they were submitted and approved, and (5) if the county council sought a capital allocation to provide an alternative access to the convent lands development; and, if so, when the application was made and approved.

Monaghan County Council sought a capital allocation of £100,000 for 1988 for this proposed 22 house scheme. No allocation has been made to date in respect of this scheme. Layout and cost plans for the scheme which were submitted by the council on 7 November 1984 were approved subject to a number of minor technical details on 5 February 1985. The council have not sought a capital allocation specifically to provide an alternative access to this proposed development. The cost of providing access to this proposed scheme would be included in the overall cost and would not be the subject of a special allocation.
