Vol. 380 No. 7

Written Answers. - Urban Renewal Work.

99.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he will confirm the commitment given by the Minister of State at his Department that the full financial allocation for urban renewal work on houses at Brookfield Place, Blackrock, County Dublin, will be allocated; the amount of money which has been allocated; when it will be paid; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An allocation of £80,000 has been made to Dún Laoghaire Corporation for remedial works to this estate in 1988.

The corporation's proposals are at present being examined in the Department and a decision will be notified to them as soon as possible. It is considered that the allocation is sufficient to meet the expenditure which is likely to arise this year. The funding of work to the remaining houses will be considered in the light of the result of the first phase.
