asked the Minister for Justice the number of committals to prison in 1987 by the following age groups (1) 15-17 years, (2) 17-21 years, (3) 21-25 years, (4) 25-30 years, (5) 30-40 years, (6) 40-50 years, (7) 50-60 years, (8) 60-70 years and (9) 70 years and over for people tried in the Special Criminal Court.

Fourteen persons were committed to prison from the Special Criminal Court in 1987 — one in the 21-25 years age group, six in the 25-30 years age group, three in the 30-40 years age group, three in the 40-50 years age group and one in the 50-60 years age group.
