Vol. 381 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cork City Parking Discs.

77.

asked the Minister for the Environment when sanction for special residents parking discs for residents of the South Parish district in Cork city will be forthcoming.

The Cork (County Borough and County) Traffic and Parking By-Laws 1986 made by the Garda Commissioner in 1986, following consultation with the Cork local authorities, and subsequently confirmed by me provide for the issue of residents parking discs by Cork Corporation. The fee prescribed in the by-laws for such discs is £35.

I understand that the corporation have asked the Garda Commissioner to amend the by-laws to provide for a lower fee and I have already indicated to the commissioner that I am favourably disposed to this amendment. I await the submission of the amending by-laws for my formal confirmation.
