asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application from Barnhall rugby football club, Leixlip, County Kildare, for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery; if she will favourably consider this application having regard to the past performance of this club in its effort to provide facilities in the area and to the club's future plans for expansion; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The application in question has been received and it is currently under consideration. A decision will be communicated to the club as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education if she will favourably consider an application for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery by Kildare Tourism to assist that body in its efforts to promote and expand tourist facilities in the county; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

There are no funds in my Department at present from which assistance could be given to Kildare Tourism in their efforts to promote and expand their tourist facilities.

asked the Minister for Education the total amount of funding allocated to date through her Department from the proceeds of the national lottery to various projects in County Kildare; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

It is assumed the Deputy is referring to projects under the capital grant scheme for the provision of recreational facilities. To date, the total value of grants provisionally allocated to County Kildare in 1988 is £45,000.
