Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Sligo Group Water Scheme.

157.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the extreme difficulties being caused by the delay in his Department in sanctioning funds for the Moydoo-Grayfield group water scheme in County Sligo; and if he will take steps to sanction the grant immediately.

I am not aware of any delay in regard to the sanction of funds for the scheme in question.

State grants totalling £34,000 were allocated to this scheme on 24 June 1988, and on 6 October, 1988 Sligo County Council agreed to pay a special contribution of £33,382 to the group towards the cost of headworks on the scheme. Instalments of both grants and special contribution will be paid to the group as work on the scheme progresses.
