Vol. 383 No. 6

Written Answers. - Teacher's Qualifications.

252.

asked the Minister for Education whether a person (details supplied) in County Kildare is qualified to teach in the Kildare Vocational Education Committee system; whether this person has most or all of the qualifications required; the reason for this person's removal from the whole-time staff; if she recognises that this person has been hailed as being exemplary in her profession; the way in which her qualifications are lacking; if she will be appointed to a whole-time post in the current year; if her qualifications are sufficient to enable her to obtain a whole-time position with Kildare Vocational Education Committee; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The question of whether the person referred to by the Deputy is academically qualified for a teaching position in a second level vocational school is currently under examination by my Department.

She has again been requested to submit certain essential information which had earlier been requested by my Department so that the assessment of her academic qualifications can be finalised.
