The Shannon Free Airport Development Company Limited has no direct involvement in providing ferry services to the Galway islands. However, I understand that under the company's general remit to promote tourism and regional development in the mid-west area, it has provided financial support towards the establishment of a licensed private ferry service between Doolin, Co. Clare and Inisheer in the Aran Islands, The detail of the support provided in the case of an individual project such as this is a matter which falls within the day to day responsibility of SFADCo in which I have no direct function.
