Vol. 387 No. 2

Written Answers. - Health Legislation.

81.

asked the Minister for Health the items of legislation which, having been passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas, have been brought into force by his Department over the past 30 years; whether all sections of such Acts have been brought into force; if not, if he will cite those sections of Acts which have not been brought into force; and in respect of legislation or sections of legislation which having been enacted have not been enforced, if he will indicate the reasons for failure to enforce such legislation.

In view of the extensive range and variety of legislation in the health area it would not be practicable to reply on the basis of an examination of the entire statutory framework relevant to the health services.

I would refer the Deputy to the Index of Statutes, 1922-1982 and Supplements to the Index for the years 1983 to 1985 which are available in the Oireachtas Library. However, if the Deputy were to indicate a specific legislative code I would be prepared to supply the details requested.
