Vol. 388 No. 1

Written Answers. - Georgian Houses.

44.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is the owner of the Georgian houses situated at Merrion Street Upper, Dublin 2, directly opposite Government buildings, if the first five houses, that is those at the corner opposite the gate to Leinster House are being used for any purpose; if these houses have been inspected recently; if so, if he will outline the result of this inspection; the plans he has for the future use of these houses; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that these houses are falling into a serious state of disrepair; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

These houses are vested in the Commissioners of Public Works. With the exception of one private tenant, the five houses in question are unoccupied. The properties which, it is acknowledged, require extensive refurbishment, are regularly inspected. Their future is under review by Government.
