asked the Minister for Communications the numbers of persons (a) charged, (b) convicted summarily and (c) convicted on indictment, for each of the past ten years for an offence against section 62 of the Post Office Act, 1908, or previous equivalent legislation; in each case the number of people so charged or convicted who were remunerated out of public funds or who were members of a public body or agency; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The information sought by the Deputy is not available in my Department. The compilation of this information would require an inordinate amount of staff resources in my Department and An Post which could not be justified.
