Vol. 388 No. 3

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

99.

asked the Minister for the Environment in view of his statement in connection with the purchase of local authority houses, if he will clarify the position of those wishing to purchase their homes who are unemployed and in receipt of unemployment benefit/ assistance; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The terms of the tenant purchase scheme do not exclude any particular category of persons. Local authorities, who are responsible for the administration of the scheme in their areas must, however, be satisfied that tenant purchasers can meet the outgoings.
