There were 15,296 smallholders in receipt of unemployment assistance on 1 March 1988 and 15,112 smallholders were in receipt of unemployment assistance on 1 March 1989.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare the reason for the delay in payment of disability benefit to a person (details supplied) in County Louth.
Payment of disability benefit was deferred pending a medical examination as the person concerned had been found capable of work on her previous claim.
Arrangements are being made to have her examined by a different medical referee on 27 April 1989. Her entitlement to payment of disability benefit will be decided in the light of the medical referee's report.
