Vol. 388 No. 5

Written Answers. - House Prices.

231.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is concerned at spiralling house prices in Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As I indicated to the House in my contribution to the 1989 Budget debate (col. 470 of 26 January) the Government are concerned about house price inflation — particularly in certain parts of Dublin and some other urban centres. Certain of the tax changes in the budget were aimed in part at counteracting these trends. I am continuing to keep the overall position under review.
