asked the Minister for the Environment the capital allocation made to each local authority in the State to cover each authority's expenditure for local authority housing construction in each of the years 1980 to 1989; in respect of each local authority for each of the aforesaid years, the allocation made available for new house starts in each such year; and the total number of new house starts to be commenced in respect of each local authority's house construction programme in the year 1989 as authorised by his Department.

The following tables set out the capital allocation to each housing authority in each year 1980 to 1989 for the construction of local authority dwellings together with the estimated total number of new house starts by each local authority in 1989. The capital allocations cover (1) commitments on schemes already completed or in progress at the start of the year and (2) new houses started during the particular year. The allocations did not distinguish particular amounts for new house starts.
