Written Answers. - National Lottery Fund Allocations.

82.

asked the Taoiseach the number of applications currently with his Department for allocations from national lottery funds; and when a decision will be made on these applications.

The Department of the Taoiseach administer national lottery moneys only to national cultural institutions under their aegis. Applications for grants for arts and culture projects, from individuals and arts and culture organisations generally, are being dealt with by the Arts Council.

Roinn na Gaeltachta have some 50 applications on hands for assistance from the national lottery. The implementation of these projects would cost nearly £5 million and they will be considered as funds become available from the lottery for such projects.

The National Heritage Council have 79 applications on hands for projects related to the physical heritage. The council accept and consider applications on an on-going basis.
