asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he is concerned at the development of the monopoly in the beef industry which is not in the best interests of the producer; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Given the structure of the cattle and beef industry, there are no grounds for concluding that a monopoly position, in fact, exists.
