Vol. 394 No. 4

Written Answers. - Alzheimers Society Day Care Centre.

239.

asked the Minister for Health if he will assist the Alzheimers Society of Ireland who urgently need a premises for a day care centre on the north side of Dublin; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I recently met with representatives of the Alzheimer Society of Ireland where a number of issues were discussed including the provision of a day care facility on the north side of Dublin. Arising from this meeting I have asked the Eastern Health Board to investigate the possibility of making a suitable premises available to the Society. Both my Department and the Eastern Health Board have given financial support to the Alzheimer Society in respect of the setting up and running of its existing day care unit at Blackrock and I am making a further grant available to the Society to assist the very valuable work which it is undertaking.
