Vol. 395 No. 4

Written Answers. - Appointment of Teachers.

Michael Finucane

Question:

128 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education if she has recently appointed a remedial teacher for County Limerick; the location involved; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I was not in a position to allocate a remedial teacher to County Limerick on this occasion but I will consider any applications on hand if further appointments are to be sanctioned. Sixty five ordinary national schools have the services of the 51 remedial teachers already serving in County Limerick.

Michael Finucane

Question:

129 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education is she has recently appointed teachers in County Limerick under the disadvantaged areas scheme; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A total of eight additional teaching posts were recently allocated to schools in County Limerick under the special scheme of teaching assistance for schools serving disadvantaged areas. This brings to 12 the total number of posts currently allocated under the special scheme to schools in County Limerick.
