Question:214 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Justice the number of (a) men and (b) women in his Department in the Higher Executive Officer grade and above in (i) 1989 and (ii) 1986.
Written Answers. - Department Staff Numbers.
On 1 December 1989 the number of men serving in the Department of Justice in the Higher Executive Office grade and in the general service grades above that, numbered 188. On 1 December 1986 the figure was 199.
The corresponding figures for women were 55 and 52 respectively.
The above figures includes staff serving in my Department's Head Office, the Courts, the Land Registry, the Registry of Deeds, the Legal Aid Board and the Garda Complaints Board.
